Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education (ECE) for young children (0 – 5yrs old) is offered by Aere Tai. Services work to support, encourage and inform families to develop children, using a combination of child led teacher guided and directed activities based on the children’s interests. Staff are highly trained and qualified to meet children’s needs for learning.

Our ECE environments provide extensive language, mathematics, science, art, drama and music resources to extend children’s experiences. There is a balance of shared large group learning, small group learning and opportunities for children to explore and experiment individually.

Teaching is bilingual in English, Te Reo Maori and Pacific languages, with more diverse language experiences in songs. In some cases free rides / transport services can be provided to pick up and drop off children.

ECE programmes are focused on:

  • Supporting early learning / development of children
  • Growth of children through interests based learning
  • Incorporation of Pasifika culture through bilingual teaching and a culturally diverse curriculum

Cost: 20 Hours free ECE available (WINZ subsidies)
