Whanau Ora is about a transformation of whanau – setting their own goals, focusing on the family as a whole rather than the individual. The Whanau Ora service aspires to clients self-managing their own health and wellbeing.
Whanau Ora aims to support families in:
- Lifelong Learning: Education, Training and Skills Development
- Living Longer, Living Better: Improved wellbeing, Independence, Health Literacy
- Living Financially Free: Less Debt, More savings
- Leading and caring for their families, communities and country: Safe, healthy violence free environments, Pacific leadership, supporting cultural capital and growth
Whanau Ora focuses on:
- Working with families to identify their goals and reach their aspirations
- Supporting families to develop and implement short-term, medium-term and long-term action plans
- Supporting families to access services through the Whanau Ora fund to help them implement their family action plan to achieve their aspirations
